Your Opening Statement When prospecting, a very important step in the sales process, is your opening statement. One only has about 10 seconds to connect with his/her prospect,and say something which might spark their interest, whether contact is made in person or on the phone.
The things You Should Say to the Prospect:
- State Who You Are
- Tell them Your Company Name
- Succinctly state what you sell
- Let them know how your product/service will be of benefit to them
- Ask a question that takes their temperature-- let's you know if they have any interest or not
Keep In Mind:
- Maximize Your Words; Pause where appropriate
- An Opening Statement is Not a Close
- Don't say anything that misleads
- Never use slang
- Be clear
Things NOT to say:
- Is this a good time?
- We are the leaders in ______________
- I am trying to determine if there is a way for us to work together
- We work with your competition
- Don't waste time asking how they feel today

Presentations At Women's Expo ![]()
I will be facilitating two (2) one hour presentations at the Women's Expo on March 19th and 20th. One of the topics I will be presenting is an Introduction to the SellMORE System (tm).
I will also be presenting on the topic of Non-Violent Communications, sometimes referred to as Compassionate Communication.In addition to these two presentations, I will be doing a few 10 minute business coaching presentations on: marketing, cold calling, and business tips.
